ATTENTION EMERGING ARTISTS!

Alongside our Young Artist Collective, Blindspot Collective facilitates an Emerging Artists 

Collective. Our EAC group meets once a week and works together to create a brand new 

show, developing devising skills, writing skills, and experiencing the creation of a new work

with experienced professionals.

All disciplines are welcome: dancers, actors, writers, musicians, designers and more! 

Participants' contribution to the devising process will be an essential part of the show's

DNA, and offers an opportunity for emerging artists to unleash their creativity, collaborate

with peers, and develop new skills.

 

Collective workshops run for 12 sessions. Sessions are primarily be held in Downtown

San Diego, and a stipend of approximately $20 per session will be provided, making

this - for some - their first paid theatre creation experience.

Applicants of all experience levels and from all artistic disciplines will be considered

equally. Actors, musicians, writers, composers, dancers, and artists of multiple

disciplines are welcome as they will have an opportunity to enhance their existing skills

while collaborating with fellow artists to gain new insight and experience. Participants

must be between the ages 18-25. Additionally, because Blindspot Collective is

committed to inclusivity and authentic representation, members of historically

excluded or marginalized communities are strongly encouraged to apply. These

communities include but are not limited to: people of color, women, individuals with disabilities,

immigrants, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Participants will receive a small stipend for every workshop attended, which will be ​

paid in two installments. The performance piece that is developed may be integrated into Blindspot Collective's programming and our participants will have the opportunity to work with us on that process as well.

Please note: there is no application fee to be considered. Additionally, college students from outside of metro San Diego are welcome to attend, as we will observe Thanksgiving and Holiday breaks if necessary. While a stipend is provided, housing and transportation is not available.
