ABOUT THE SHOW

Blindspot Collective invites you to Ponderbog, an interactive adventure about imagination, family, and courage. Join two feuding sisters: practical Nancy and her wildly imaginative little sister Kim, as an argument accidentally unleashes real magic and sends Kim vanishing into an enchanted, endangered forest kingdom! With a swaggering knight, a sly and loyal troll, and the wisdom of an ancient tree spirit at her side, Nancy must journey through a world built from childhood memory to bring her sister home. Perfect for children and families, this engaging performance celebrates the magic of imagination and sibling bonds while encouraging kids to see the natural world through a lens of wonder and care. Recommended for grades 2 through 5.

Audiences are greeted by a troupe of Storytellers who spin the tale of two sisters swept into the mysterious kingdom of Ponderbog. Young audiences actively move the story forward as the “Voices of the Forest” as Nancy battles mischievous sprites and other mystical creatures, all while learning to trust her own imagination and lean on her new forest friends. But it's only by restoring the Soul of the Forest and reuniting with her sister that Nancy can heal the kingdom, untangling important lessons about family, empathy, and caring for the natural world along the way.

Ponderbog includes original musical numbers, campfire-style singalongs, and audience call-and-response that inspire young audiences to discover the importance of family, imagination, and courage. This 45-minute show was created by professional artists and educators to address the unique human development and learning needs of students in grades 2 through 5. While this program is tailored for these grades, we recognize that you know your students best, and if you feel other grades would also benefit and enjoy the experience, we warmly welcome them to join.

Ponderbog is a collaborative effort by Blindspot Collective, directed and coordinated by Shellina Hefner and written by Tyler Tafolla, that celebrates the power of family bonds and imagination by creating meaningful theater for young audiences.
