Underground is an immersive, world premiere musical based entirely on the discography of Ben Folds and Ben Folds Five. Audiences will be transported to their favorite dive bar, where former bandmates will reunite, exes will collide, and secrets will be revealed. This hopeful new show blends flashbacks, dance, and complex harmonies to illuminate the histories and inner lives of the regulars down at your local pub.

Originally conceived by Amy Cordileone, Donnie Tuel, and Rachel Tuggle Whorton, Underground has been workshopped in New York City and San Diego prior to this production, a unique collaboration between Blindspot Collective and Coronado Playhouse, the venue that will be transformed for the show. Including beloved songs like "The Luckiest," "Brick," "Annie Waits," and "Zak and Sara," patrons will get a glimpse of the hope and heartbreak concealed in plain sight within the strangers next to us.

Featuring a live band and talented cast of local performers, the San Diego Union-Tribune proclaimed Underground one its Top 10 production to look forward to in 2023.
