Attention teen artists!
Blindspot Collective is seeking high school students to join Blindspot Youth Collective this summer!
Young artists will devise, produce, and perform an original concert with guidance and mentorship from professional artists who specialize in music, dance, theatre, and design. Participants will be inspired by their local communities and encouraged to amplify their unique voices and perspectives while creating original songs, monologues, and multimedia performances
Blindspot Youth Collective will take place from July 5th - August 5th, Monday through Friday 10am - 4pm in downtown San Diego. Programming will culminate with a showcase of work at Epstein Amphitheater on UCSD's campus. While limited conflicts are acceptable - students must have open availability August 4th & 5th.
Applicants of all experience levels and from all artistic disciplines will be
considered equally. Actors, musicians, writers, composers, dancers, and
artists of multiple disciplines are welcome as they will have an opportunity
to enhance their existing skills while collaborating with fellow teen artists to
gain new insight and experience. Participants must have completed at
least one year of high school and members of the class of 2023 are
welcome to apply. Additionally, because Blindspot Collective is committed
to inclusivity and authentic representation, members of historically excluded
or marginalized communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
These communities include but are not limited to: people of color, women,
individuals with disabilities, immigrants, and
members of the LGBTQ+ community.
There is a one time $100 registration fee. Financial aid is available.
After submitting an application, students will be asked to
schedule a group interview with our artists.
Please note: there is no application fee to be considered. Additionally, only students based in the San Diego region shall be considered as housing and travel accommodations are not available.
To apply, please submit this short form. Applications are due by 11:59pm on Friday, June 16th.
